A liquidity pool is a fundamental concept in decentralized finance (DeFi). It is a collection of crypto assets users provide, locked in a smart contract, and used for trading on decentralized exchanges (DEX). Liquidity pools enable users to trade without intermediaries, improving transaction efficiency and transparency. Users who deposit their crypto assets into a liquidity pool become liquidity providers and earn a portion of the transaction fees as rewards.
